Darren Britz
Darren Britz is a renowned South African wildlife filmmaker and photographer, celebrated for his immersive approach to capturing the natural world and his ability to tell compelling stories through visual media. He’s best known for leading the Cinematography & Photographic Safari at Lion Camp in Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park, where he guides guests through the art of wildlife photography and filmmaking, helping them refine their skills and deepen their connection to Africa’s beauty.
Britz’s passion for wildlife and storytelling was ignited in his youth, inspired by watching iconic Discovery Channel programmes such as Deadliest Catch and Man vs Wild with his father. These shows played a pivotal role in shaping his career path, motivating him to pursue a life dedicated to documenting the wonders of the natural world. Today, Darren’s work not only showcases Africa’s breathtaking landscapes and diverse wildlife, but also educates and inspires others to appreciate and protect the environment.
João Kopke | Portugal
João Kopke
Sometimes called the Ambassador of Curiosity, João Kopke is a celebrated Portuguese surfer, filmmaker, and storyteller, widely recognised for his unique ability to blend adventure, music, and environmental exploration into compelling narratives. Born in the seaside town of Carcavelos just a few miles west of Lisbon to immigrant parents, Kopke’s early life was shaped by both the challenges of a changing family dynamic and the vibrant community of Brazilian families in Portugal. Despite personal hardships, he channelled his energy into a diverse array of passions, excelling in gymnastics, acrobatics and, most notably, surfing, with just enough time for a degree in political science and to become a classically trained double bassist and opera singer!
Raised on a steady diet of Discovery shows, João’s thirst for knowledge and adventure was fuelled by the channel’s ethos of curiosity, storytelling and lifelong learning, and he’s developed into a modern ambassador for wonder and exploration. His work takes him all over the world, seeking new stories to tell and new ways to inspire others. Whether through his documentaries, music, or environmental advocacy, Kopke exemplifies the spirit of discovery, using his platform to connect people with the wonders of the natural world and the richness of the human experience.
Eleanore Lluna | France
Eleanore Lluna
Formerly a nurse and trainer in emergency care and procedures, Eleanore Lluna is a French survivalist and hiking guide known for her expertise in wilderness skills and outdoor leadership. Based in France, she’s built a reputation as a specialist and trainer in survival techniques, regularly organising courses and workshops to help people of all backgrounds gain confidence and resilience in nature. Lluna’s approach draws on her background in emergency care and her passion for the natural world, blending practical instruction with environmental appreciation.
Her fascination with survival was sparked by watching Discovery programmes including Naked and Afraid and Bear Grylls: Escape From Hell, which inspired her to pursue a life dedicated to adventure and self-reliance. Today, Lluna is recognised not only for her technical skills but also for her ability to motivate others to step outside their comfort zones and embrace the challenges – and rewards – of the wild.
Joshua Adeyemi | Nigeria
Joshua Adeyemi
Joshua Adayemi is a multi-award-winning adventurer and outdoor enthusiast based in Scotland, best known as the co-founder of Black Scottish Adventurers (BSA), a community interest company dedicated to introducing more ethnic minorities to the outdoors. Originally from Lagos in Nigeria, Josh moved to Scotland over a decade ago, where the country’s breathtaking landscapes inspired his deep connection with nature. Through BSA, he’s helped thousands discover the physical and mental benefits of outdoor activities, while also educating them about environmental sustainability and the importance of responsible access to wild spaces.
As a child, he watched Discovery on a neighbour’s television, and the window it opened onto the natural world has never closed. His engaging storytelling on social media and beyond has inspired millions to explore Scotland’s countryside, break down barriers to access, and find community in the outdoors. Whether leading hikes up Munros, sharing tips for beginners, or advocating for greater diversity in outdoor spaces, Josh continues to champion the transformative power of nature and the joy of adventure.
