An international team of pioneering adventurers are attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest drive across the earth’s most deadly terrain: across the icecap to the South Pole and back again.
There are no support vehicles. They are going it totally alone.
At the heart of the mission is the 4 x 4 car – named ‘Polar’ - is the ultimate gearhead pimpmobile dream, modified internationally over a period of two years to perfection and tested to her limit amongst the glaciers of Iceland.
The skill and detail of this extraordinary vehicle modification is vital for success, and key parts of the 2 year process have been filmed.
The three man team comprises an ex-Special Forces expedition leader; an engineering specialist; and a member of the public who dreams of making history - a 6 foot 4 Canadian copywriter, who’s never even camped in snow before.
For their race to the South Pole, the team aims to smash the world record (currently held by one of the team members at under three days) to become the ultimate fastest off-road adventurers in the world.
