Frontline Battle Machines follows his journey into uncharted territory as he gains unprecedented access to Camp Bastion - the strategic hub of the allied forces in Afghanistan in their war against the Taliban.
Not only does Mike experience the power of the machinery used by the modern British Army, but during a less than routine medical evacuation he himself confronts the enemy, and in doing so witnesses at first hand the dangerous reality of the war in Afghanistan.
Training for Afghanistan
To prepare for the frontline in Afghanistan Mike had to undergo combat logistic patrol training
A former car trader, Mike has gone on to enjoy a long and successful career in TV, with a strong focus on motoring programmes.Wheeler Dealers goes from strength to strength and Mike was the face of Channel 4’s Deals on Wheels and motoring show Driven.
His early television successes led him to present motoring programmes such as Revved Up, the British Rally Championships and the Isle of Man TT motorcycle races on ITV4, picking up the ‘Best in Vision Personality’ award at the 2004 Royal Television Awards along the way.
He has also presented Discovery Real Time series Auto Trader and has various motoring columns in publications such as Esquire and Auto-Express.

, Mike has decided to branch out from conventional motoring, risking life and limb to investigate the machinery used by British forces on the front line in Afghanistan.
