LONDON SURF FILM FESTIVAL
Surf's up in London starting this Wednesday
As the London Surf Film Festival starts this week – running 11th-14th of October at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, London – and we love surfing, every day this week we'll be bringing you a gallery and trailer from the official selection of international features they'll be showing at the festival.
We thought we'd start with a very British surfing movie called The Endless Winter.
Mark Harris and Mitch Corbett are two surfers on a mission; to discover how Californian cool arrived on Britain’s bracing beaches.
They visited the most iconic surf spots around Britain’s 5000 miles of rugged coastline; unravelling how the men and women of our native waters have evolved one of the most unusual and colourful surf scenes on the planet.
Watch the trailer below (and let it run on as there's a nice little animation afterwards about the how the history of surfing is intertwined with Captain Cook):
Brave of them we say – as most of those native waters are, to put it mildly, a little on the chilly side, even with a wetsuit on.
We'll be featuring a number of films across the week – so check them out, and if you're anywhere nearby Hammersmith head down to the festival and catch the movies on the big screen.
